A Synthetic Seismogram is used to predict seismic responses of the earth and is produced by analyzing the reflectivity of digital sonic and density well log data together with seismic data. Results can be significantly improved by comparing correlation points such as marker beds with major reflections on the area’s seismic section.
Clients requesting a Synthetic Seismogram should supply the following:
Well Logs or Digital Log Data: Sonic (and Density where available) | Geologic Tops | Seismic Pseudosonics can be generated from Density or Resistivity curves where sonic logs are not available.
Prism Ventures maintains an extensive database of velocity data & synthetic seismograms.
Synthetic Seismograms produced by Prism Ventures include the following features:
Wavelet Optimization
Correlation Log Displays
Formation Tops Display
Calibration of Sonic to Seismic or Area Velocities
Time-Depth Listing with Horizon Invterval Tabulation
Phase Rotation
Workstation File and LAS File
